Albicin

Allermed is evaluating the safety and efficacy of Albicin for the immunotherapy of Verruca vulgaris lesions. Albicin is a biological product derived from the yeast Candida albicans. The drug is in phase II development for the treatment of Verruca vulgaris. Published data indicate that antigenic products of this fungus may be used as an immunologic stimulant to remove common and plantar warts caused by the human papilloma virus. (1-3).
